After a long absence at am3 due to a lack of inspiration I come back with some quite nice shots of an ice skating show whe attend on monday. It was rather tough to make some good shots since our zoom is unfortunately not the fastest one and the maximum aperture at 300mm was only 5.6. And the ISO at 1600 added much noise to the picture... But you will see. I hope you will enjoy my next shots nonetheless. K.

Wonderful.......It looks to me as if they are giving a pose for your photograph. Well done K on this shot...

I am wondering if ISO 1600 gave this were you able to see them at all with your naked eyes? Do you shoot RAW or JPEG? If RAW you can still push up the exposure by 2 good stops later.

This shot looks great despite the technical limitations! Now go buy yourselves the Canon 300mm/2.8 prime :P
Shuva - the RAW trick is a good fall back but in dark noisey images I still find that pushing it up can be as or more distorted than shooting at a higher ISO.

Good shot, I reconize them, they are not at the olympic games, they are professionels.

Great shot. A little dark and I was going to suggest what Shuva suggested, to shoot RAW and adjust later but as Jason says this can only work so far.

Kerstin, perfect timing to view the skaters in a classic pose. Arena lighting is always difficult.
