This year we have a fabulous autumn. Everybody is outside enjoying the last rays of sun.The Jardin du Luxembourg, one of the biggest parks of Paris attracts thousands of people. The Palais du Luxembourg was constructed between 1615 and 1627 for Marie de Medicis. In 1794, during the French Revolution, the palace served as a prison. It also served as the headquarters of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. It currently houses the French Senate. K.

I didn't realize the history of the Palace. It's so beautiful, what will the future hold?

I recently read a book called "The Eight" which partly takes place during the French revolution - there was a very grisly scene in the garden - I'm glad it is being used for leisure (outside and senate proceedings inside) these days instead of horrible torture ;-)
